Plagiarism is an academic offense. The internet as a treasure trove of information has become a facilitator of theft.Many people are ignorantly participating in plagiarism other people's work
People are taking the information from the internet as it is, I wonder what fails them to acknowledge that it is not their brain child. As easy as it is just to cite who is actually the brain behind certain information, people are taking advantage of this internet but failing to adhere to academic rules and regulations of publishing.
The bad part of it is that even professional media practitioners are the ones in the front line of plagiarizing. They steal information blogged or posted on Facebook by citizen journalists.
This cannot be stopped up until they enforce a certain punishment for offenders,they are continuing with theft partly because there is no real punishment
